Our Montessori Leadership

Picture of FCMA Headmaster Stacy Byrd

Salutations, I am Stacy Byrd, Head of School at Four Corners Montessori Academy. Holding an AMS (American Montessori Society) certification, a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, and an M.A.Ed in Administration and Supervision, along with a School Administrator certificate from the state of Michigan, I bring over twenty-eight years of dedicated experience in Montessori education.

My journey in Montessori began as a parent in a small, private Montessori School in Rochester Hills, MI. It was during this time that I fell in love with the Montessori pedagogy, setting the course of my life's career. Throughout my career, I have taken on various roles, including Lead Teacher, Admissions Coordinator, Mentor, Instructor, Assistant Head of School and Head of School. I have also served as a consultant for different Montessori schools and instructed at the Montessori Teacher Education Center and for Choice Schools.

It is through my years of experience that I have come to learn that a leader is not only to lead by example, but also to be of service to the community in which one serves. Therefore, it is my intention that we grow in relationship, community, and in service to the children in our lives.

My name is Richard Monaghan and I am FCMA’s Montessori Instructional Coach with over a decade of Montessori experience. A Cornerstone University graduate in education, I initially joined this wonderful community as a substitute teacher, where I had the privilege of experiencing the diverse and dynamic Montessori classrooms. This experience allowed me to forge connections with students in a unique and meaningful way, reinforcing the importance of holistic education.

Driven by a passion for Montessori principles and inspired by the collaborative spirit of FCMA, I transitioned into the role of a lead Lower Elementary teacher. Each role has played a crucial part in shaping my understanding of the Montessori philosophy and reinforcing my commitment to fostering a love for learning. Possessing AMS (American Montessori Society) certification, I am currently a trainer at the Michigan Montessori Education Center, where I find immense joy in sharing my knowledge with adult learners pursuing their Montessori certification. Now, I have the privilege of extending my support to FCMA's dedicated staff.

I look forward to continuing this enriching journey, dedicated to upholding the principles of Montessori education and contributing to the growth and development of our exceptional students.
